Makeup | Summer Makeup Look

Makeup | Summer Makeup Look

I was so excited to post this look for two reasons, 1. I can’t help but falling in love with myself every time I look in the mirror, this hair suited me so well, I almost had an heart-attack when the extension was finally installed; 2. Summer is here, of course I had to do a makeup look to rock on this perfect weather. As I said before, neutrals are faves, I actually have to play more with colors when it comes to make up, but I also wanted to something simple and comfortable. You don’t wanna wear a lot of heavy colors on hot weather, it might fade a little bit and you gonna look like you are melting. Well, the colors I used on my eyes are from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. Hope you enjoy, see other pictures below and list of all the products I used.

New In | Sephora + Charlote Russe

Most of the products right here are my last purchases from my trip to sephora, all of these are products Ive been craving for months, and this week, finally I could add to my collection. Most of them were suggestions from other beauty bloggers (which I don’t recall), except the lipsticks, and the beauty blender but I am glad with the purchases and have been trying some of the stuff already, and the experience has been amazing. I got the EOS Lip Balms from Charlote Russe, I always get them from random places, but like the other products I will link down below where you can get them.

1. The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette

2. Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

3. YSL Lipsticks “Rouge Volupté” in #5 and #11

4. Sephora Eyelash Curlers

5. Beauty Blender

6. EOS Lip Balms

Beauty Blender Vs The Perfectionist Makeup Sponge

Beauty Blender Vs The Perfectionist Makeup Sponge

If you follow makeup blogs, beauty gurus on youtube or any IG makeup artist I think you’ve heard already about beauty sponges, dupes and beauty blenders. Most of them say how really good they are, that you should have at least one of them, and so one, but what some people don’t how is how different beauty blenders and beauty sponges are. First of all there are many beauty sponges out there, all of them with different shapes and proposes, second, there is also the Beauty Blender that is a makeup sponge applicator, totally different from the other sponges, a sponge that cost $20 but is literally worth the price. Two years ago when I first heard about Beauty Blender, a mini sponge that costs $20 I was like “WOW! Really? Is that really necessary?” Today I absolutely can’t live without one, the Beauty Blender is on top of the list of worthy repurchase products, there is nothing  like a Beauty Blender.

When it cames to these two, the Beauty Blender and the Perfectionist Makeup Sponge, people tend to think they are the same, many times some people buy The Perfectionist Sponge because that is cheaper (cost $13) but in reality they aren’t equal at all, and I will show you why.

Last time I went to sephora I bought The Perfectionist Makeup Sponge, which I could test twice on myself, unfortunately the results wasn’t as good as I was expecting, mainly on blending, so I decided to go back to the beauty blender which I use for over two years. If you check the pictures below I was pressing both of them while there were wet, even though I was pressing as much as I could you can see that the Perfectionist Sponge (The purple one) wasn’t touching itself it is a little bit harder and dense but the Beauty Blender (The pink one) is more soft. After soaking them in water both grow a little bit more, but the Beauty Blender gets bigger because of its sponginess. The Perfectionist Sponge isn’t actually that perfect, I feel like the Beauty Blender bounds more and The Perfectionist is more rough to my face. Consequently, it becomes harder to blend the products and requires more time and work because of the quality of the sponge.

By looking at them looks like they are made off of the same material but they are not. The texture is actually the biggest thing of the difference both. High quality sponges are pricier but they have everything to provide you a flawless makeup application. (Check pictures below)

There are few similarities between the two, most of what a Beauty Blender does the Perfectionist Sponge will do as well, but the result might not be the same, especially when it comes to blend. See what the sponges can do below, and why I prefer the Beauty Blender instead:

Apply Foundation: With the round part of the Beauty Blender push the makeup into your face, just push push push and push and swipe it across you face, the way it was designed won’t  soak as much foundation, so you won’t waste much product.

Cover Dark Circles: If you just want to hide some dark or red circles, you definitely want to use this. It will blend the product evenly, even if you just put a tiny bit of product.

Eliminate Harsh Lines: Blends nice and seamless, After blending it will just look smooth and flawless.

Perfect For No Makeup Makeup: For those who want thin layers of makeup, or a makeup that looks like you are not wearing makeup, I would recommend the beauty blender over a makeup brush.

Blend Concealer: Concealers are obviously lighter than your foundation, when you highlight your under eyes what you want is apply it in a way that you cannot notice where you concealer ends and where the foundation starts, the Beauty Blender will provide you that, just keep pushing and pushing.

No Creasing: Foundation and concealer tends to dry really fast when using the Beauty Blender, so it just stays on your face all day long without creasing or making you look caky.

Apply Loose Powder: While wet or dry (depends on you) you can also apply loose powders and mineral powders with the beauty, using the same Push push motion, .

Flawless Finish: The Beauty Blender overall will put everything into place, better than any face brush, it will cover, blend and spread your makeup evenly.

PS. if you are looking for something less expensive than the beauty blender, you can definitely try The Perfectionist Sponge, or other dupes, although I gave you good reasons to just use the Beauty Blender.  Dupes are not as good as the Beauty Blender is but they aren’t bad I would to the perfectionist a 6.5 out 10 and 10 out 10 for a beauty Blender. New In.

Hi Guys,

These two were my last purchases. Im so glad I bought YSL cosmetics because they are pretty expensive, I don’t purchase products like this out of the blue, I had to wait months to finally have the opportunity to buy them. Super glad to add a new lipstick to my YSL Rouge Volupte collection, and even more glad because I have a brand new product, the touch éclat dupe. First of all, I haven’t used dupes before this is my first time doing it. Why? The ones I tried before (from other brands) seemed to not give the result I wanted to have, but this one did.

YSL Touche Eclat Dupe – I am girl who thinks high-end beauty products aren’t really necessary if you have other alternatives at drugstores and beauty supplies, but you will find tones of high-end products out there in which its alternatives won’t let you satisfied the same way, and this is one of those. I’ve been testing this my face since last year, and couldn’t wait to buy it. If you are looking for extra highlight underneath your eyes this could be a great option, also apply the product around the mouth, alongside the nose, and near the temples, use it to cover your dark circles, and it will give you a well-rested appearance.

It also looks like a pen, that makes it easier to apply the product to your face, so if you are looking for a 5 minute makeup this could also be the right tool to use. The Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat costs $40, I won’t say that the price is fair because it is still pricy but it is worth having one on your makeup collection. (Shade #7 Luminous Mocha)

YSL Rouge Volupte #6 – Ive been talking so much about the Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks, that I don’t even have more words to describe it. I love this lipsticks line to death, really wish I could have all of them, they are soft, smooth, creamy, high pigmented, and they have this attractive gold packaging. Definitely adding this pink, girly, romantic, vibrant, to my spring/summer lipsticks.

Skincare | Scrubs and Argan Oil

Skincare | Scrubs and Argan Oil

These are things that truly deserve a place in your beauty routine. If you have been following the blog you must know that I am a scrub lover, I don’t trade scrubs for anything else in the world…Wait, like.. uhm, no! Anything! See little swatches in the pictures below, check its consistency as well.

The argan oil isn’t actually my favorite, but I am eventually always going back to it and it works god on my skin, I just hate using it during the day, so it is mostly part of my night routine. Why I do not use during the day? I am more active during the day, I tend to sweat and bothers me a lot. I’d rather use a light moisturizer during the day, the one I’m currently using is on my previous post.

Victorias Secret Pink “Sea Salt Scrub” – used this scrub a lot when I was in Luanda for christmas vacation, that city is super hot, I was always sweating and needed to scrub more because of the dirtiness that clung to my body. I was screaming about 3 to 4 times a week and my skin was radiant, and still though. I do not use this scrub neither on my face nor on lips, it will burn, I have very sensitive skin and that does not work at all. A good exfoliating scrub for face is in this post right here. This product costed $18, will last for a quite good time, worth having. Unfortunatelly, they are discontinuing it, but hope they come with that again or something even better.

True Blue Spa “Hand Scrub” – Even though I use my hands to scrubs my body I still having my hands scrub. I bought it at Bath and Body Works, and I haven’t regret a bit. For those, who are always using their hands, it doesn’t matter what you do (painting, cooking, cleaning, washing cars or massaging) you are going to need this. This is going to smooth out your hands from rough to nice and polished. This 60 seconds Manicure, cost only $12 and will be in your beauty vanity for months. (Scrub with wet hands)

Tree Hut “Shea Sugar Body Scrub” – This is the yummiest scrub i’ve ever tried, whenever I am using it, I have to taste a lil bit (Ups!). The smell is amazing, it scrubs perfectly, leaves your skin without any dust, plus, its grains aren’t too big. Big big big big recommendation! I bought at ultra last mont and I’m using a week from now, everyday. It only costs 7 bucks.

Josie Maran “Argan Oil” – also known as “Liquid Gold” is perfect for any type of skin. After having my face clean, I squeeze to drops of the oil in my hand and put it on my face in dabbing motion. What I like in particular about the package is that it comes with this dropper that is really nice, it gives the perfect amount that you need to apply to your face. So far I think the oil is worth the price it has, but I still haven’t explore all the benefits it gives only like about 30%, only skin benefits.

See in the pictures below some of its benefits:

PS.  Scrubbing and using this only is an aaaawesome combination, my skin changed within two days and Im loving it. Im also using a bit of the oil on my hair because it is breaking on its edges, after results, I will tell you guys how the experience was.

Monday Routine #3

Monday Routine #3

Hi Y’all,

Welcome to my glowing partyyy! Today I am rocking these three babies on my face. I will call them the “oldie-but-goodies”. I have all of them for more them 2 years, and I just can’t get enough! Today’s combo was a little bit like the last one, shine and glow. Different than the last #MondayRoutine post, here, with these products I could chose which areas of my face I wanted the glow to be at. Since spring has arrived I’m getting more into illuminators, the sunlight hits on my face and my skin looks glowy and dewy.

Nars “Orgasm” Illuminator – As I said I could choose where I wanted the highlight to be, so put a little bit of the illuminator on the high points of my face, after I moisturize my skin. I love this product to death!!! I have it for so long and I am always going back to it on summer. In need of dewyness? When it comes to getting a luminous dewy complexion you have several options, but this is my number one suggestion, it looks amazing on dark complexions.

YSL Rouge Volupte – One of my favorite lipsticks, I am a nude lipsticks junkie and I can’t help it. This color is the 1 Nude Beige, I can match it with any makeup look plus, my obsession for YSL lipsticks is endless, I just want them more more and more. The formula is amazing, silky, creamy, and every easy to apply.

Clinique Dramatically Moisturizer Lotion+ – Correction, I use all of these products for long time, but this one! Actually, this one is new, and Im trying out the sample that a friend gave me. The one I was using before is the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, no complains. This one, let me put in this words- is the bomb!!! I love it love it love it, I have combination skin and lotion seem to figure out my what my skin needs and provide it in a blink. Different than the gel, this one does not let my skin be neither dry or oily, I’ve been using the lotion+ for a week, I adore it!

This was today’s routine, no make up, yet sift and dewy!
